About 1809 LGBT Alumni
1809 LGBT Alumni was formed to provide a professional and
educational network of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transidentified
alumni as well as foster support for LGBT students currently
attending Miami University. The work of 1809 LGBT Alumni includes:
- $1,000 LGBT scholarship awarded to a current Miami
University student annually
- Chapter events
- Continued strengthening of our relationship with the Miami
University Alumni Association
- Membership database of 600 LGBT and supportive alumni,
faculty and staff
- List-serv of active members
- This web site
- Lavender Graduation
- Maintaining close working ties with University
administration
- Financial support of Spectrum
- Programming—including our fabulous LGBT reunion every five
years, Homecoming, and also Miami University’s annual Reunion
