Christopher Hughes

Chris HughesChris Hughes currently serves as the Program and Outreach Coordinator of the Voting Rights Institute, the new division in the Office of Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner. Before joining the Secretary of State’s office, Chris was the Coordinator of the Men 4 Men Project at the Columbus AIDS Task Force, an outreach and HIV prevention program that he aided in creating in 2003. The program utilized behavior based scientific tenets to become one of the most successful HIV prevention outreach programs in the state of Ohio.

Chris also has experience with diverse groups and points of view, stemming from his service as Community Co-chair of Ohio’s HIV prevention planning body for two years, as well as service on various boards of directors for non-profit organizations. His educational background includes a BA in English and history from Miami University as well as an MS in Human Services Management from Franklin University. His current role as the Program and Outreach Coordinator in the SOS office allows him to work with Board of Election officials, community agencies and voter advocates to strengthen Ohio's democracy and ensure free, fair, open and honest elections.
